Frequently Asked Questions
Sourcing
-
You submit a brief describing what you're looking for — the car, your priorities, budget, and timeline. We follow up directly to discuss it, then use our network to find the right car. Often this means accessing cars before they reach the open market.
Once we identify a suitable opportunity, we assess it for condition, provenance, and market position, and advise you honestly. If you want to proceed, you transact directly with the seller. We guide the process end-to-end until the car is yours.
-
Our fee structure typically involves an Engagement Fee payable on instruction, and a Success Fee payable on completion of a transaction. Both are agreed in writing before we start.
We may also receive commission from the selling party in some cases. Where this applies, we disclose it to you before the transaction completes.
Full fee details are set out in our Terms of Business, which we provide before engagement.
-
Many of the best cars never appear on PistonHeads, AutoTrader, or even specialist dealer websites. They change hands through private networks — between dealers, collectors, and known contacts — before any public listing is considered.
Our network gives us access to these conversations. In some cases we know about a car weeks before it would reach the market, if it ever does. That access is one of the most valuable things we provide.
-
We focus on the higher end of the market — typically cars from £100,000 upwards, with particular depth of network in the £150,000 to £2,000,000+ range. Our experience and contacts are most relevant in this segment.
If your budget falls below this range, our sourcing service may not be the right fit, but our Market Intelligence content is available to all.
-
No. We do not arrange, introduce, or facilitate consumer finance or credit in any form. We are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in connection with our services.
If you require finance for a purchase, you will need to arrange this independently before or alongside engaging us.
-
Yes. As a business operating in Guernsey that facilitates high-value transactions, we are required to conduct identity and source of funds verification on all clients under anti-money laundering legislation.
This means we will ask for proof of identity (such as a passport) and proof of address before we can proceed. For transactions above certain thresholds, we will also ask for evidence of source of funds. This is a legal requirement, not optional.
-
Deliberately few. We keep our active client base small so that every search receives proper attention. We do not operate as a volume broker. If we take on your brief, it will be worked properly.
Selling
-
You tell us about your car — model, spec, condition, mileage, and what you're looking to achieve. We'll give you an honest view on market positioning and the best approach for your car specifically.
We then introduce your car to qualified buyers from our private network — selectively and discreetly, without broadcasting it publicly unless you want us to. You agree every introduction before it happens. You transact directly with the buyer. We guide the process through to a clean handover.
-
Not without your explicit agreement. Our default approach is private — your car is introduced directly to qualified buyers from our network, with no public listing. If a public listing becomes the right approach at any point, we'll discuss it with you first.
-
We focus on three categories:
Investment and collector cars — limited production, homologation specials, appreciating models
High-performance and supercar — Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, AMG and similar
Premium and luxury — Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Range Rover, high-specification German marques
If you're unsure whether your car is a good fit, get in touch and we'll tell you honestly.
-
Selling fees are agreed in writing before we begin. We typically work on a success fee basis — a percentage of the sale price payable on completion. There is no upfront fee for selling enquiries.
Full details are set out in our Terms of Business, provided at the point of engagement.
Available now
-
The current Available Now page features a private collection of 14 cars — all delivery mileage examples from a single private owner. The collection is predominantly Ferrari, plus a Bentley Bentayga and Mercedes G65 AMG.
This is not dealer stock. These are private cars available to the right buyer, subject to negotiation.
-
Pricing on this collection is subject to negotiation and is discussed directly with serious buyers only. Publishing prices publicly would invite comparison shopping and attract the wrong enquiries.
If you're interested in a specific car, get in touch and we'll discuss pricing directly and in confidence.
-
Yes. If you have interest in multiple cars, let us know in your enquiry. Buying multiple cars from the same collection may also create room for a different commercial conversation.
-
Yes. Cars will be removed from the page as they are sold or reserved. The page also has filter functionality for different makes, so as inventory from other sources is added in future it will sit alongside the current collection.
Market Intelligence
-
Market Intelligence is our research and editorial content — articles, analysis, and guides on specific vehicles and market segments. It's written from direct experience: ownership, deal history, and close observation of how these cars trade.
It exists to demonstrate expertise, not generate traffic. The same thinking underpins every sourcing brief we take on.
-
Most content is free. Some deeper reports or guides may be made available as paid content in future. Where content is free, it remains our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or used commercially without our permission.
-
No. All content is provided for general information purposes only. Nothing on VroomVest constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any vehicle or asset.
Market commentary on rarity, desirability, or value trends reflects our opinion at the time of writing. Past behaviour of any market segment is not indicative of future results.
-
Often yes — this is exactly the kind of enquiry we welcome. If we've written about a car in depth, we know it well and are likely well-placed to help you find one. Get in touch via the sourcing brief and mention the article.
-
Paid guides are delivered digitally via a secure download link sent to the email address used at checkout. No physical products are shipped. Purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer law.
-
No. VroomVest is based in Guernsey and does not charge VAT or sales tax on digital content, regardless of the buyer's location. Guides are priced in GBP. Your bank or payment provider may apply a foreign exchange conversion if you pay in a different currency.
